Tip of the Month

Carbon Monoxide is an odorless, colorless gas that can cause sudden illness and death. It is the cause of more than 500 accidental deaths per year and more than 15,000 are made seriously ill by its effects. The symptoms of CO poisoning are often mistaken for the flu.
If the entire family suddenly becomes sick at the same time, suspect elevated CO levels. Get everyone out of the house and call 911.
In Minnesota, every single family dwelling must have an approved and operational carbon monoxide alarm installed within ten feet of each room lawfully used for sleeping purposes.

The American Heart Association has developed new guidelines for treatment of sudden cardiac arrest. These new guidelines for CPR are required to be implemented by March 1, 2011. Using interim training materials, we began training to the new standards November 15th. New materials will not be available until sometime in the first quarter of 2011. Please contact us with any questions or concerns regarding the new guidelines.
